About the Firm
History
Medina Abogados was founded by Pablo Medina Magallanes in Guadalajara in the year 1991 as a private practice specialized in the litigation of insurance law matters and, more recently, enforcement of bond agreements.
The firm is an intelligent partner alternative for counseling in the analysis of insurance policies, reinsurance problems as well as management of claims and bonds.
In the same vein, the firm is very experienced in litigation, when local or federal authorities are required to intervene to settle matters that could not be solved by alternative conflict resolution methods. We can counsel on civil, commercial matters and the very specialized area of insurance and bond law matters.
Juan Pablo Duran became partner in the year 2023 after participating as an associate for many years.

Modes of service offered:
1.- Preventive:
Preventive counseling is meant to lower risks by focusing in having the best possible contracts, and doing so, lowering risks of conflict and, in worst case scenarios, having the best grounds for eventual litigation.
On this part, we emphasize the importance of obtaining adequate counsel from the moment an incident occurs and during the subsequent claims, administrative and conciliatory stages, up to a judicial procedure, always striving for such procedures to be expeditious and efficient without undermining the technical and judicial aspects that determine success on a lawsuit.
2.- Corrective:
If the case arises that a counterpart fails to fulfill their obligations assumed under a contract, it becomes necessary to analyze, strategize and present the case before judicial authorities at the state or federal level, or as it may be the case, before instances such as mediation, conciliation and/or arbitration.
In this practice, we can litigate matters of the civil or commercial law.
It is, however, in the practice of Insurance and Bond Law, where we are best positioned in the minds of our clients, counterparts and competitors, as we have been immersed in the practice of this specialized area of law for more than three decades, during which we have developed doctrine, participated in academy and practiced by counseling clients ranging from insurance and reinsurance agents, insurance companies, bonding companies, reinsurers and, of course, insured parties and beneficiaries of bonds.
